This part of Seagrove Beach is about the prettiest there is on the coast. The view from this condo is magnificent. The top floors balconies are open to the sky. The location although right on the beach is not right on 30 A, which is a real plus.

The location and view were amazing and exactly what I was looking for! The furniture was pretty dusty when we arrived. We were concerned about only having 1 parking spot, but were able to make it work.

Great spot on a great beach. The property is a bit tired but who cares-we weren’t there for a five star resort. The deck makes the place great. Plenty of beds for everyone. No complaints.

My 2nd stay at Commodore Retreat so knew the excellent location & beach access. The Penthouse unit was perfect for my age range, and the rooftop balcony was the best part. We had other family members staying on property but we all gathered on my balcony in the evening. It does get hot out there during the day. Our only real complaint is the Fob system. All other properties I have stayed in have a code to punch in like on the doors. 2 fobs for a unit that sleeps 10+ is not enough. It was a constant hassle walking back & forth with it. Kitchen was stocked pretty well other than the can opener. Small problem but easily fixed. Kids loved the pool too, esp on the double red flag days. We are already planning a return visit to CR!

Overall, we had a very nice stay and loved the property location. The unit itself could use some updates, but was clean and very roomy. We really enjoyed the large balcony and the beautiful view. The property management company was very responsive and super easy to work with as well. All around a great vacation experience!

It's becoming a yearly tradition to meet my kids and Grandkids here (halfway for both). We love the location, and being on the top floor. Seagrove is a beautiful area, not too crowded, very quiet, the water is perfect. We love Commodore's Retreat, especially this particular condo.

The condo is great and everything we needed. Steps to the beach, comfy beds, and an equipped kitchen so we could cook some meals at home. The porch was wonderful to play cards on or sunbathe. Our only complaint would be the wifi is kind of hit or miss. Some days would work and some days would not. Not too big of a deal. Overall it was clean and we had a wonderful time! We will definitely be back!

Was perfect for the kids and Grandkids. The porch was better than expected (especially that view!). The pictures are actually outdated, as the patio furniture has been vastly updated. My only complaint is the pole to the umbrella is broken and unstable, and would not hold up the umbrella. Nothing major though, we very much enjoyed the views, and dining out there. The condo is well stocked with plenty of room for the family. This is our second time staying at Commodore's Retreat, it's always an awesome experience. I love the daily beach chair and umbrella set up, the fact that it isn't overly crowded, easy access to shops, restaurants, and most importantly, Publix. Commodore's Retreat is our new go-to, cozy place to stay. Don't fret about there only being one parking spot if you're going with a group. The overflow parking is literally right behind the building. For some reason we thought we would have to walk for miles or something. It's right there behind the building, with steps. In fact, the Commodore's retreat parking lot is a little small, the overflow parking lot is more convenient for trucks and SUV's. Look no further, and book your stay here!

The location and proximity to the beach could not be beat. Overall the unit was exactly what we were looking for. The deck was the best part about the place. We ate every meal we had from the deck overlooking the ocean. I would definitely stay here again. There were a few small things that could have been addressed in the interior of the space that would go a long way. However, They are minor in detail and overall didn’t take away from the experience.

We had no issues with the unit and manager responds quickly. the kitchen had more cookware etc than other places we have stayed. Living area a bit small and couch and chairs very worn and uncomfortable but we spent most of our time on the incredible balcony which had very nice furniture. Our only real complaint is not with unit but with the property itself. Pool needs work and pool deck is awful. Pool was very cold- not heated like it says. Elevator kept malfunctioning. There was a Tornado warning and sirens went off but we couldn’t go to parking garage to take cover because it was flooded. Very scary being on top floor with tornado. And needing the fob to get in or out of beach and pool was real pain for 6 people and 2 fobs. There has to be a better way.! But overall for the price you can’t beat the location.

The listing advertises that it sleeps 12 however there were only two bathrooms, one which was in the master bathroom and the other one was also downstairs. It was a bit cumbersome with no bathroom upstairs and just generally having 8 people share a bathroom. While there they had to come replace the kitchen faucett. We also had to call about the master toilet which had to be fixed. However they were quick to come and fix or replace what wasn’t working. Parking was problematic as it was just difficult to get in and out of the parking lot. On the positive side, the view was wonderful. There is a large deck with nice furnishings including an umbrella. We loved the area and the beach!!!

Perfect for our family which includes 5 boys. The sleeping loft could sleep an army. The huge deck was the perfect place to watch the sun rise or set and view the gulf. The only down side is the lack of privacy since there is not any screen between each condo on the 4th floor.

We enjoyed our stay. The balcony, view, beach and location were perfect. The condo accommodated our 2 families of 4 well. Property manager was very helpful. The condo is starting to show its age and could use a refresh but it was comfortable and had everything we needed. We would definitely stay here again!

Couldn't of been a better experience. The view was perfect, the weather was incredible and the trip was unforgettable. Make sure to bring odds and ends for kitchen ware if you need it, paper towels, chip clips etc.... There were plenty of chairs in the drop zone before walking to the condo, as well as many items for the kids to enjoy on the beach. Was a great destination outside of the traffic of Destin, and the Tide pool couldn't of been a better option for young kids.

We have a family of 10. It’s difficult to find a place where you don’t feel cramped for a decent price. Commodore’s Retreat was great. The loft gave us plenty of room to sleep all the kids. The only draw back that we had was that you are only allowed one vehicle per unit. We had to pay for a parking spot at a different location for our second vehicle. Condos that accommodate as many as 10 occupants should allow 2 vehicles to park. Judy Drake

Let me be clear, this place was just perfect for our family (2 adults, 2 kids) and we could have easily shared it with another family. The bunk loft is fabulous for that. It gets 5 stars despite my notes below. PROS: Location location location — walking to the beach, then back home for lunch made for a relaxing dream vacation. And OMG that view. Absolutely unbeatable for the price. Beds were comfy. Unit was clean and beautifully decorated. Modern kitchen, well stocked, and a nice sharp knife. Nice baths. Nice TV, and on and on... all in all, lovely. CONS: As other guests have said, the second bedroom is SUPER brightly lit at night due to an outside light. The shades do nothing to mitigate it. We had to hang a comforter over the window, which barely did the job — so we stopped using this room altogether. Landlord: Please spend the $50 to get some roller blinds that actually block the light. When we VRBO, we expect some basic things to be in the unit, like a sponge to wash dishes. While laundry and dish detergent (2 pouches) were provided, some other simple staples would have made our trip so much easier. Tip to the landlord: Leave salt, pepper, olive oil, spices and other non-perishables from one visit to the next. It makes the place feel like home. Other than that, glorious. We'd definitely go back!

Thank you for this review! I just purchased a curtain rod and black out drapes for the guest bedroom that is being installed on Saturday 5/26/18, I really hope this offers the needed solution for the guest bedroom! We would love to leave spices and other food/cleaning items, however due to the State of Florida hotel lodging code, we are not allowed to leave those items in a vacation rental. Hope to have you back again soon!
