We loved the property. Right on the beach, you don't even need sandals to get to the water. The rental came with a pair of chairs and an umbrella set up for us. This place is a gem. Parking is less than ideal, but easily ignored once you see the view. Would definitely rent this unit again.

I had to book later than I would have normally due to circumstances beyond my control so I wasn't sure what to expect. This condo exceeded my expectations. There were a couple of little things that I texted James about and he was very receptive and attentive I would stay here again in the future.

This property was great. Completely as advertised. Great location. Everything was clean and spotless. The house could use a few upgrades but it was perfect for what we needed. Jim was readily available and was hands on with any questions we had. Great host and great house. We will definitely be back.

Me and my four kids stayed here this past week and it was really great. The location was so convenient, we walked wherever we needed to go. The beach is right there, no crossing the road! The balconies were really nice to enjoy breakfast and coffee on and the outdoor shower was super convenient. Would definitely stay here again!

Perfect spot right on the beach. The beach wasn’t crowded. Local shopping and food near by. Some walking distance. The place itself was clean, had everything we needed for cooking and hanging out on the beach. Plenty of spots to sleep and storage for clothes. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else when visiting the area.

Had a great time surf fishing just steps from the condo door. Beautiful sunrise and sunsets from deck. Close to activities including deep sea fishing, great restaurants, and grocery stores. The condo is very comfortable. Everyone enjoyed our time.

I've vacationed in the Destin area for about 25 years and I love it. I came across this property and some of the reviews had me concerned but I took a chance anyway. I'm glad i did. When you first get to the property, you will notice that the spaces are very narrow but it does state that in the description so don't be surprised if people on both sides have full sized trucks or SUV's and you have to crawl through the rear of your vehicle to back it up. I have never stayed this close to the beach! We loved how we could walk down 2 flights of stairs and be at the beach. Note for elderly or disabled persons, to enter the front it's 1 steep flight of stairs and to go to the beach is 2 flights of stairs out the back. It's so much more peaceful to have a private beach like this. At a resort, dozens of people are constantly walking past you and whatnot, kicking up sand on you or worse, falling on you. None of that here. We were not bothered 1 time on the beach. The inside of the condo was clean and everything seemed to work but the ice maker. The owner was nice enough to post a note that it was broken and supplied ice trays. It was comfortable and supplied everything I've come to expect for that price range. 1 reviewer had mentioned cocroaches. Here's the deal on that. These giants are referred to as palmetto bugs but they don't carry the diseases of their German cousins. Sometimes they accidentally get inside and could unnerve someone that don't know what they are. Don't write a bad review because you don't know what you're taking about. I had the occasion to contact the owner a few times and I got an almost immediate response every time. He was easy to talk with and is very serious about the service you receive during your stay. We had a great time and can't wait to go back again.

We really enjoyed our stay! The place was nicer than expected, very roomy and comfortable. The view was amazing and we saw dolphins every day! It was within walking distance to restaurants and shopping. Everything we needed was there. Our family were all very happy. Can’t wait to come back!

Location can't be beat! Great for family with small children ease of access to beach and house. Lots of stairs so bring baby gate for small kids.. Parking is tight but doable. Will definitely stay again.

We stayed here for four weeks to escape the midwest winter while we worked remotely. It was a wonderful spot - the space was even more comfortable than we expected, and it was fantastic being able to just walk down some steps to walk along the beach every day. There was some confusion when an exterminator came by for a routine stop and we didn't feel comfortable letting someone in the apartment in light of the coronavirus pandemic, but that was quickly resolved with a phone call. We would definitely stay here again.

This location is PRIME :) Open up your back door to the ocean and smell that salt water breeze! We loved being RIGHT on the beach for such a reasonable price! The accommodations are great, plenty of space for 8 of us on our trip! Close to EVERYTHING including just a hop, skip and a jump to Rolled ice cream, Pompano Joes, and several gift shops! You won’t believe how awesome this spot is! The beautiful and white sand beach here cannot be beat! Can’t wait to come again!

We loved our week spent at Sticks in The Sand. The beach was gorgeous and the weather was perfect. We are never disappointed with Destin. We love being right on the beach and this townhome is a perfect location. Parking is difficult but we manage to make it work every year. The one problem this year was people setting up on the private beach even though they weren’t staying in the Sanddollar Townhomes complex. We were having to set up our tent by 6:00 am in order to get our spot. This is in no way a reflection of the owners because the sign is clearly posted “private beach for owners and renters of Sanddollar Townhomes.” Thanks James and Shari for sharing your home with us again!

This is the second time we have stayed at this location. The private beach is awesome not crowded like other locations. Condo is nice and well stocked. Very comfortable for our family of 6. We had issues with water not being hot but owners resolved quickly. Parking is a bit tight so be careful getting in and out. Great area to walk or jog in the morning and coffee shop and restaurants close by. We have been coming to beaches here off and on for 20 years and we will not go anywhere else.

Sticks in the Sand exceeded our expectations for our family vacations. The pictures are good but don't do them justice as being there it is so much better. We had a family of eight and all slept very comfortable and we had plenty of room. Waking up every morning to that beautiful ocean view and literally only steps away from that white soft sand. Like I said before it exceeded our expectations and look forward to seeing Sticks in the Sand in the future.

We stayed at this property for 4 days this month (Oct 2017). The location is outstanding as it is right next door to our favorite restaurant in Destin, Pompeno Joes, and is also right on the beach. The property was very clean and the furnishings were quite nice. We had only one small issue with the wifi and the owner responded to our request within minutes and sent someone to the property and the issue was fixed all in less than 1 hour. We would recommend this property to anyone coming to Destin.

We stayed here Aug 24-27! This was our first time to Florida for family vaca! I had no idea what to do or were to start. My main concern was I was taking my 7mo infant with me. (As well as 2 teens.) this location was perfect for me! I didn't have to carry baby with me far to get to the beach. Or to eat out. You literally walk down the steps and your on the beach! When it was nap time, I could sit on the bedroom balcony and watch the waves while she was sleeping! The view from bedroom balcony as well as the living room balcony were perfect! We seen dolphins a few times during our stay! I had so many questions and they were quick to respond every time! We had so much fun! Pompano joes was just a small walk down the beach. Which is perfect when toting a baby :) I will def be returning here! No complaints at all!

We booked this location to be right on the beach. We loved that we could step right out on the beach and that we could watch the kids go back up to the house without going with them. The house was great and just as described. It was a big plus that the location is just far enough away from the busiest parts of the area but it seemed we were able to get everywhere we wanted to go in 20 minutes or less. Definitely someplace we would stay again.

This is the second time we have stayed here and have recommended it to friends. It is directly on beach, which we find so handy with 3 kids (they can run up to go to the bathroom and get snacks, etc). The unit had everything we needed. The location is great too! (Next door to Pompano Joe's, there are a few nearby ice cream and retail shops). We walked down to a local coffee shop just down the road a couple of mornings. It was a great vacation!

My family and I recently stayed in this unit for a second time! I cannot express enough how awesome this unit is! It is clean! It is beautiful! It is stocked with everything you need! The kitchen has everything you need to cook your meals right there! We spent 7 days here and only went out to eat a few times! Location is perfect! The water was so clear that you could walk out hip deep and still see your feet! Pompano Joe's is a stones throw away! I have 2 son's ages 10 and 6. They have the time of their life on this beach! Flying kites! Swimming in the ocean! Hunting for crabs after dark! If you are looking for a great place to take your family for a relaxing vacation! This is the spot! We are already planning our next trip to Destin! Thank you Slatton's for providing such a perfect getaway spot for my family!!!

My family and I really enjoyed our stay at our Sticks in the Sand town home! The property was nice and perfect for what we needed for a family of 5. The beach is gorgeous and private. We could see dolphins from our back deck in the evening. Close to all of the fun activities, and everyone was so friendly. The parking spots are very small, so if you are planning on have 2 vehicles plan to walk a bit to park your second vehicle. Overall a wonderful vacation, will definitely book here again!

My husband and I stayed at Sticks In The Sand the second week of May and had an amazing time. If you have any doubts about whether to stay at a hotel chain versus Sticks In the Sand then let me put your mind at ease. The location and convenience of Sticks In The Sand is worth every penny. The beach is gorgeous and private. Sticks In The Sand is also near every restaurant and store you can imagine. The owners are awesome, and will help you with any questions or issues you have. I am giving them 5 stars because the customer service was outstanding. I almost always get home sick when we travel, but I can honestly say that this was the first time that I truly felt at home and didn't miss home once. Destin, Florida is a beautiful place to visit. Right on the beach! It's a townhouse on stilts so you take a set of stairs and your toes are in the sand. Hear the waves at night. Best sleep I've had in ages. Comfortable beds, clean sheets, updated well stocked kitchen and baths, tile floors throughout. Bring your own soap along with the other items they suggest on their list, something I forgot. Owner very responsive and even came over and replaced our remote that was missing, but who needs a remote when you're at the beach? Plenty of chairs to take down to the beach and they even provide beach towels. Great high end washer and dryer. Very convenient to everything and no searching for parking. And right on the beach!!!

Our stay at Sticks in the Sand was above and beyond what we expected. We stayed in unit 19, 2 bedroom townhouse. The best feature was having 2 balconys,one off the living room and the other off our masterbedroom. Having your own private beach was great to. We will definitely be back.
