The home and the location was perfect for my senior parents. Everything was a short walking distance from the home. The beach was literally in your backyard. The hosts were great. The only glitch we had was the internet but we spent most of our time at the beach so it was not a huge inconvenience. The whole family enjoyed the stay and we will be back.

Our stay at Sticks in the Sand was fantastic! Check-in was seamless, and the owner was incredibly responsive throughout our stay. When we encountered an issue with the stairwell light, it was promptly replaced, which we really appreciated. The best part was being directly on the beach—it made for a truly relaxing getaway. The condo's layout was perfect for two couples, offering plenty of space and comfort. Plus, the value for the price was great, making it an even better experience. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely return!

This is a great location. We had a great time here. The kitchen looks to have been renovated recently. The outside on the beach side is a little aged but but a great place to sit and enjoy the evening air and sound of the waves crashing against the shore. It is a AWESOME location and with it being a private beach it is not crowded. I recommend this place.

Just as described - on the beach with a beautiful view! Comfy and roomy. We were on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the townhouse, you would need to keep that in mind if someone in the party has trouble with navigating due to the steps. Parking was right at the door. We brought our own chairs and it was so nice to have a deck to leave them on each day. Being a private beach was wonderful too! The only other people we saw were those walking the beach and our next door neighbors.....loved the small crowd. Early morning and late evening was almost like you had a beach of your own!

The place was great and right outside the door are a sugar-white sand beach and a crystal clear ocean. What more could you want. I loved having the convenience store right across the street too. Need more ice? It's steps away. We'll be back for more!

This townhouse was exactly what we were looking for. We don't like to be in the high rises or in the heart of Destin. Its too busy and congested. We've also stayed further East but that's too far away from restaurants and attractions. Sticks in The Sand is located just right. It's out of the circus with a private beach but close enough if you want to hit a restaurant or take a sunset cruise. The beds were comfy, water was hot, AC was cold and the kitchen was very well stocked and had nice appliances.( no icemaker so bring ice. I hear they are hard to keep running in beach rentals). Our host covered pretty much any and all details is the house manual ,which was supplied to us before we arrived. I had a question and he answered very quickly. There was a street long internet/cable outage for a few hours. Before we could complain our host acknowledged the issue with a message telling us what was going on and what the plan was to fix it. The furnishings were nice. We had everything we needed. Check in and out was easy. Assigned parking is handy ( right in front of the door then one flight of stairs up. )Know that if you have big vehicles,2 cars are going to be a tough fit, but 2 medium to small will work if your mindful. The beach is steps from the back door (down 26 steps...yes I counted...its a thing)The water was clear and turqoise during our visit, Looked like a swimming pool. Lots less people on the private beach and great sunsets. It's an easy walk to The Whales Tail for a drink. I saw someone complaining about rust. The inside is very nice. Outback looks like all beach places look. If its metal or wood the salt and sun cook it quicker than anyone could keep up. Everything on the balconies and stairs was clean, sturdy and safe with good plastic furniture.. If you want no beach, sun, salt corrosion, you need a much much more expensive place or a different kind of vacation. Someone else complained about the bright yellow color. We liked it. It's beachy and happy and made it easy to know which one was ours ( yellow building...third blue shutter...in case you're wondering.)

This is our second time staying at Miramar Beach and renting from this host. Our condo was very clean and well equipped with all necessary things. Booking, check in and check out were seamless. Beach is just steps away, and it is not overcrowded. We enjoyed watching dolphines swim in the ocean right from our balcony. Breathtaking views of the sunset. Loved every minute of our stay there and can't wait to go back!

This is the second time we have stayed in this specific property and our fourth time staying in a “sticks in the sand” property. This location is perfect! The beach is beautiful and the unit is literally right in the beach. There is a gas station across the street and it is a short walk to the cute coffee shop. We rented this property for my wife's birthday. I had other family members rent adjoining units, we had 6 total. The place was everything we wanted and worked wonderful. We were able to give codes to others and come and go as needed. The location was great and exactly what we wanted. Having the circle K across the street was convenient too. We love this property and have stayed at this exact location three or four times. Walk down the steps and you are on the sand and have your own private peice of the beach. Wife and I get the master bed and our teens get the secondary bed room. Front bedroom can hear some noise from the street or noisy neighbors, but from the master bed you only hear the sounds of waves. Kitchen and living room are clean and well kept, and a nice gas grill out on the main deck. We hope to stay there this year for Thanksgiving or Christmas, but not certain yet.

For us this place was all about easy acces to the beach and beautiful views from the two patios. Just about everything else was great too, but that's why we chose it, and it lived up to our expecations. We were worried the interior might be a little tired, but it wasn't, it was recently updated, nicely decorated and everything was in tip top shape. I will say the exterior is a bit worn, but who cares,

Overall, we had a great time at Sticks in the Sand. The condo is not the newest on the beach, but it’s clean and in a good location. The yellow color made it super easy to find after a long beach walk. There are three flights of stairs to get to the beach, which weren't an issue, but good to know. I liked that the bedrooms were upstairs and away from the main living space. The master bedroom was comfortable and huge! The kids said the bunk beds were not as cozy, but they did sleep ok. The kitchen was well stocked, but we were glad we’d brought basics from home, since buying those locally for just a dish or two gets expensive. We understood that due to Covid protocals, there was nothing left behind. The adirondack chairs were nice to have provided, and we were pleasantly surprised to find a decent umbrella in the beach closet. The private beach area was great to have for enjoying the gorgeous gulf sunset. My only recommendation is to provide a few more light weight blankets or bring your own. The evenings were really quite chilly, and other than a very heavy comforter, there weren't any other blankets that we could find. The last two days, the house temp was 61 degrees in the morning. Brrrr. Thanks for a great stay!

Initially this was going to be a girls weekend- 4 of us were going to stay here. The two bedrooms and two full bathrooms would have been perfect. My friends had to cancel for various reasons, so my husband and I spent a very relaxing weekend listening to the surf, fishing, and eating at the excellent restaurants around the area.

We had a wonderful family vacation staying here with stunning views and convenient location close to everything you could want or need! Neighbors were kind. Only hiccups were that we needed a can opener and oven mits but we made do! Clean, great for families with kids. We have three boys and they made themselves at home. Top bunk doesn’t have much of a railing to protect kids from rolling off so we just made them stay off that bed. But if you NEED that bed and it’s for a little one you may want to know ahead of time. Hosts were great, no issues. Great stay!

We really enjoyed our time at this property. The location is perfect. The beach is right behind the townhome. You don't have to walk across the street, just walk out the back and there you are! The beach right behind the home is SO much less crowded than the beaches that are in front of the high rise condos. We loved the location - near a gas station and walking distance to a couple of restaurants. The amenities were all as described in the listing.

Thank you to the owners for another great experience at one of their properties. We will be back to stay in this unit again. The unit was very clean. The patio furniture was very nice and clean. It was nice to be able to sit on clean well-kept furniture at the unit. The stairs to this unit were better than some units that have smaller winding staircases. Very kid friendly. The kitchen appliances were very nice and clean as well. The owner is very easy to communicate with even though he travels for a living we always received timely responses. No problems during our stay. This is a great location that is convenient to shopping and restaurants. A++ rating! We will be back!

Sticks in the sand is the way to go! The condo was clean and had all amenities! The view was beautiful and you’re just a few steps from the water. There were plenty of chairs for us to take down to the beach or you could rent your own for the day. The private beach access is a must have when planning your trip! Public beaches are PACKED! There is plenty to do around the condo! It states two cars can be parked easily, and they mean smaller vehicles, so plan accordingly! We will definitely be booking here again for our next trip!

The weather was not the greatest, but Sticks in The SandA was perfect. I never relax at home, but this week I did. The house is so comfy and bright. It didn’t matter that the weather outside was cold and rainy, inside was perfect. I read a book, watched Hallmark Christmas movies and caught up on some much needed rest. Did a little bit of baking too. We went to the Seafood market twice and cooked fresh shrimp, everything we needed was here. This was our second stay (first in 3B) this year and we plan on visiting more than that in 2019. James was very helpful in making sure everything went smoothly. Even though it was just my husband and I, Sticks 3A would be a wonderful spot for others to join us. Plenty of room with lots of privacy. Great place for a girlfriends getaway or a place to bring the grandchildren. We’ll be back for certain. Kelly & Larry, MO

This last trip in September was our 3rd stay at Sticks in the Sand. We love everything about it! I was especially happy to find a Keurig there on our last trip. All the comforts of home available. There is a Circle K grocery store directly across the road from our unit and a Winn-Dixie about 1/2 mile away. The unit sits directly on the beach between two nice restaurants that are about a 1/4 a mile down the beach in each direction. You will not be sorry if you pick Sticks in the Sand. Wish they had a unit that was pet friendly but can understand why they don't. Thanks again for sharing your home with the world!

Our family loved staying at sticks in the sand and would gladly stay again!! Direct access to the beach. Lots of sleeping space for our 6 kids. Beautiful beach, and location. Dairy Queen 100yds from the front door for night time ice cream runs. Close to plenty of groceries and restaurants. The DVD player did not recognize any of our DVD's. Tried a few different ones, made sure we weren't trying to use BluRay's by mistake. Just an older DVD player that needs an update, It was rainy during our stay so a functional DVD player would have been nice during the couple hours while we waited for the rain to pass. Grill has some wear and tear but worked, and could be replaced, but these aren't things that would keep me from staying again though.

Thanks Topher for the Review! The grill was actually replaced this week for a a bad burner because the people called and ask. Due to being so close to the ocean I only get about 2 years on any grill. I have not heard a request to replace the DVD but will look in to it this weekend. I do not believe that unit is a blue ray player which may have been the issue. On your next stay if you have any issues please just let us know! We are happy to fix/replace anything that is not working. As we do not use these units ourselves we have to rely on the cleaning service and guest to report any maintenance issues and we try to address them as soon as possible. We stayed for six weeks in January and February. Everything was wonderful. Great to see both sunrises and sunsets each day. Unit was definitely as described, if not better. Would certainly return. Good communication with owners.

Firstly, I want to say my husband and I visit the Emerald Coast at least once a year. We've stayed at several wonderful places and this by far is at the top of our "favorite place to stay" list! It's a beach front property, which is a must for us. You have two amazing views, one on the main level from the living room and the second from the master bedroom. It's breathtaking. The home is nicely decorated with a lovely open concept and a nicely renovated kitchen with silver back splash and a stainless steel refrigerator. We loved the cozy living room with a nice size flat screen TV , comfy couches, dining table and the best feature of all, the walk out porch that's equipped with chairs, a table and a grill. This is also where you can walk down the steps directly to the beach. And did we mention how conveniently located the home is. There are restaurants in walking distance. Again, we're so pleased. This 2 bedroom (1 master, and the 2nd room that can be used for children or other guests, which includes a bunk bed, a full size bed, bathroom and TV) is lovely. Lastly, James, the owner was super responsive. We will certainly be back!

Having grown up in there area, I have been vacationing in this area for 15 years and I have yet to find a property that creates a better value for the combination of unmatched beach view/access, functional and clean unit, and proximity to everything you could possibly need to maximize your stay. All of this is further amplified by a partnering team- James and Shari- who make it their personal goal to ensure you have the ability to really enjoy your stay. While I am sure there will always be some people who find something to nit pick about, James and Shari clearly do their absolute best to take good care of their guests and properties. James took care of us and was able to rent both upper and lower unit, so we had the parking space all to our self. Just open your back door to the private white sand beach. If your looking for a bigger crowd to mingle with just walk a short distance to the left or right. The house was in good condition and well maintained. Wifi slow and flakey at times but you are warned about that. Family had a wonderful time despite the rain and cold weather during the first half of the week. Definitely would come back here again.

This townhome was updated, clean, and located at a perfect location. Beautiful private beach area but also just down the street from a public beach area with lifeguards. Within walking distance to a wonderful restaurant, and many beach shops. Within short driving distance to everything else. We loved the property and would certainly stay there again. There are several flights of stairs to climb daily up to the unit and down to the beach, which may not be suitable for everyone. For us it was worth it to stay right on the beautiful white sugar sand beach and watch the sunsets from our very own balcony.

From the moment we stepped into the townhouse we loved it! Everything was updated and nice. The kitchen was fully equipped and new, dinning table, and furniture were very clean. Both bedrooms and bathrooms upstairs were spacious and clean. There was a patio table and chairs as well as rafts, toys, and beach chairs for our use. The views from both balconies were amazing, and the beach was right at the bottom of your stairs! If you're looking for a nice place on the beach unit 3A is perfect!

This is the best place of the 3 I have stayed at on the beach. I love the nice touches such as keyless entry, beach chairs and big screen TVs in all the rooms. Very clean, great to be across from Circle K store to purchase things you forgot, etc. The entire property is very well maintained as the salt spray eats up a lot of external wood but this unit is in excellent shape. Great, relaxing, mini-vacation!! Perfect location on the beach!!! TWO private balconies on separate floors, private beach access from the lower balcony. The townhouse was a great stay. It had a beautiful view from the second and third floor balconies. The reason I chose this place in the first place out of hundreds was its direct access the the beach. It has a great 2nd floor balcony with a grill connected to a staircase down to a deck that walks out to the private beach. The beach was very clean with barely any shells to be seen. Inside was very comfortable for a group of four. Had most of the cooking utensils and cookware needed. Each of the bedrooms has their own on suite bathroom. The master bedroom bed was a great size and super comfortable. The location was prime. It is right across from a gas station in the rear for quick item pickups. Also there is a delicious coffee shop one block away (Badass Coffee) which we made it a morning routine to get some. A very nice neighborhood with slow speed limit and pedestrian crosses every block. The only downside is the palmetto bugs (basically cockroaches) but we only had one night that they wanted to hang out with us. Can not really do anything about that and they spray monthly. There was a little lack of seasonings for us that like cooking but it is understandable since it is a rental (we left some chicago steak seasoning for the next person). Our propane ran out and there weren't any extra garbage bags but not enough to really complain about. Overall a great stay and may be back in the future.

After staying at a resort the past few years we decided to give a condo a shot. The beach space was awesome, it was nice not sharing the beach with hundreds of other people. The condo itself was pretty nice, I would not recommend this property to people with very young children because of the steep interior stairs and being on a busy road. The busy road is only a factor when coming and going for the most part. We did have to buy our own beach chairs and umbrella because what was provided was pretty poor quality; but they didn't guarantee what would be provided so we went into it knowing we might need to buy our own. We would return and would recommend this property to family and friends.

Thanks for your review and we are glad you enjoyed your stay. As a policy we replace beach chairs every year right before peak summer season. So I am afraid you missed the replacements by one week as each unit now has new ones. Sorry they were not in better condition for your stay. We found we only get one years use out of them due to rust and renters not properly washing and putting them away nightly as directed. Offseason becomes a little bit pot luck between what people buy and leave in the closet and what we provide but we could of brought you some better ones if notified. In regards to the stairs you are correct, the perk in being right ON the beach, is the great location, but you are in front of Scenic Gulf 98 and not behind it, like in condo. So pulling out to the main road does take more caution as in any complex. We also rent to many families. Our stairs are built to code so we have never really had an issue as long as the guest who rent them watch their children and bring appropriate baby gates etc. Same as any house with stairs. We also emphasis this in our check in book. It states “ These are multi story town homes with open water on one side and an active street on the other, we HIGHLY recommend watching children at all times.” Thanks again and we look forward to seeing you next time at Sticks in the Sand!

James and Shari were so easy to deal with. The condo on two levels was perfect! If I could think of anything to complain about I would, but there just isn't anything. Even on chilly days, the sun hit those balconies and we were toasty warm. Well appointed kitchen, comfortable beds, nicely decorated, even three TVs!
